The most exiting part about winter is probably Christmas and the New Year. Each country has it’s own traditions and customs. December is the month where all the streets of the city are filled with lights and Christmas markets and ornaments. Christmas and the New Year Eve are about gathering with your family and close people and celebrating the year. In some countries Christmas is celebrated on December 25. It is a christian holiday that refers to the birth of Jesus Christ. Actually the winter holidays are what keeps the cold season pleasant. In Armenia Christmas in celebrated on January 6th. On December 31st all around the world people sum up the year and start the new one. As long as those holidays are family holidays, most of the citizens in Armenia spend it at home, with their relatives. Though now going to an other country, or a city is a second option. In some countries you also can see groups of people in the city center greeting the New Year Eve together in the streets. If you are a guest in an Armenian traditional New Year dinner, you will see many different kinds of dishes. Than at 12a.m. the clock strikes and everyone congratulates each other and fireworks start from almost every building in the city.
